War of 1812 Commemorative Project

Do you have a War of 1812 ancestor? To commemorate the actions of our ancestors during the War of 1812, the Essex County Branch OGS would like to add a collection of family histories that prove their ancestry back to those who fought during the War of 1812 in the Western District (Essex, Kent and Lambton counties). We will present certificates to those who can successfully prove this connection. They, along with their families, will be invited to special events being held in the area to commemorate the war.

To be a part of this project, a completed certificate application form with documented proof for each generation between the applicant and the War of 1812 ancestor must be completed. Successful applicants will receive a certificate. The certificate processing fee is $25.00 for each certificate application.
The applications will be placed on our Branch Members Only section of our website. Information for only those persons who were born earlier than 100 years ago will be included. No information about living persons will be posted.
